The series

A groundbreaking, character-led wildlife series about rival predator clans in Savute, northern Botswana: two lion prides, leopard, hyena and wild dogs. Each episode told their shared encounters from a different point of view.

It was the biggest single commission Nat Geo Wild had ever undertaken. We filmed for a year on multiple 4K cameras, and worked closely with Hans Zimmer's Bleeding Fingers Music Shop to score the entire series.

In the riverbed

I slept on the roof of a Land Cruiser in a dry riverbed in Savute, with lions asleep nearby. In the moonlight, twenty elephants came up the bank, raised their trunks, caught the lions' scent and fled. Another night, buffalo thundered past on either side of us like a horse race.
