Shepton Mallet and the Mendips

I've lived in Shepton Mallet for nineteen years, and I absolutely love the town. I fell for the architecture, the rural setting and the local history, and my favourite stomping ground is across the long whale-backs of the Mendip Hills.

I'm fascinated by the interconnectedness of things, the way the world fits together, from architecture to archaeology, landscapes to history, words to images.

When I'm not working, I'm somewhere outdoors, running across the hillsides or looking at the sky.

Hill running, poetry and cake.

I'm a director of the CIC that runs the annual Shepton Mallet Snowdrop Festival, and together, as a community, we've planted 500,000 snowdrops around the town. I've also been involved in many other festivals over the years, and I volunteer with lots of local organisations.

You can't expect change to happen unless you're prepared to be a part of it.
